About Us

Colbury House is set in a beautiful rural settings within easy reach of all local amenities, close to Junction 2 of M27 offering easy access to Portsmouth and Southampton, Bournemouth and the beautiful New Forest. Set in an elevated position overlooking Testwood Lake complex and Broadland’s Lakes fisheries. The home has extensive gardens with an abundance of visiting wildlife.

Colbury House provides ground floor and 1st floor accommodation with most rooms having en-suite facilities. A mix of single and double rooms are available. Colbury House enjoys a fusion of traditional and modern architecture. A great care has been given to protect the traditional design while paying detailed attention to the modern extensions. Plenty of sun light, fresh air and unblocked views of the green lands are popular among the residents. A large communal dining room overlooking open countryside smaller and more intimate lounge/dining areas for people who prefer intimacy. The activities team at Colbury provides an extensive range of individual and group activities indoor as well as outdoor. We make every effort to tailor activities to meet the individual hobbies and interests of residents, but also give people something new to experience should they wish to be more adventrious .

Respite / Rehabilitation / Recovery

Tier 1

Short Stay Respite is like taking a holiday with care and support provided it is essential for carers to take a break and recharge their batteries.  This is extremely valuable when people are being supported in their own home.

Tier 2

Short term Residential care and support for people who have been in hospital but no longer require acute nursing care this gives them an opportunity to regain their confidence while they prepare to return home following an illness or surgery.

Tier 3

Complex specialised ‘slow steam’ recovery for people with a neurological-disability Inc.’ an acquired brain injury or stroke, this is offered when intensive rehabilitation program has ended and further improvement can take longer to achieve.

  • We offer a personal care plans designed to support the individual to reach their optimum level of independence and continue to support that person throughout their stay.
  • We work closely with a variety of national and local charities who continue to support people living in our community.
  • We provide specialist care and support for people who have a Neuro-disability resulting from a range of degenerative conditions including Huntington’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis or Parkinson’s Disease others may have had an accident, infection, bleed or clot in the brain causing a stroke.
  • We have a wide range of expertise in providing clinical services with the support of a range of therapies, leisure and recreational opportunities which increase self determination and choice. People who live in all our services are encouraged to participate in all aspects of their personal care.
  • We provide support with a range of specialist services including Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Counselling, Dental Care chiropody and visiting opticians.
  • We offer a full and diverse programme of leisure and recreational activities specifically tailored to meet a person’s individual lifestyle and wishes.
  • Our dining experience is central to our services, with a comprehensive seasonal menu created by talented catering staff we cater for people with special nutritional requirements including cultural and regional favourites.

In addition People living at Colbury House can have access to Specialist Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists.
We have a dedicated team of care and support staff who work closely with residents on a daily basis to promote individual activity focussed care, which is identified through a person centre lifestyle and care planning.
